All of the members of the Orthopedic Society of Oklahoma would like to express our deepest and heartfelt condolences to the families of Preston Phillips MD, Stephanie Husen DO, Amanda Glenn MA and the brave husband of a patient, William Love on their tragic and senseless deaths on June 1, 2022. Everyday physicians and their staff dedicate themselves to relieving pain and improving the quality of life of their patients. Dr. Phillips, Dr. Husen and their staff are a shining example of that dedication. Their deaths are a loss to the Orthopedic Society of Oklahoma, the entire medical community and most importantly, to their thousands of patients. We stand with the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) who said “Orthopaedic healthcare centers remain places of comfort, healing and learning. Workplace violence is unfathomable, unacceptable and must be stopped. As the trusted leaders in advancing musculoskeletal health, we stand with our members and our communities as we grieve over this terrible tragedy.” OSOK extends our thoughts and prayers to the families and friends of the victims of the shooting at the Warren Clinic Natalie Building orthopedic clinic.
